Last evening Hazen's concert band performed for the last time this year. (Ooops..I guess they are required to play at graduation on the 15th.) Anyway, at the concert they gave out year-end awards to a few of the musicians in the band. I remember they did this at Hazen as well when I was in choir. So, in concert band they gave away Best Musician, Most Improved and Most Inspirational awards. Well, we were shocked and thrilled that Ian was awarded Most Improved by a vote of his peers. It was a proud moment for all of us and we did get a photo, though it's a bit blurry. The next night we were all horsing around and got a few more shots. Of course, Sara joined in on the melee. After his first year of high school we are thrilled at the progress being made and the maturity we see. He also got his yearbook today which does not look a thing like the yearbooks I used to get. They are so much more thorough now and really delve into the lives of the students much more than they did when I was young. It's quite a book!! So, let the summer begin...

Great job Ian! It is obvious, even to the casual observer that you matured a great deal this year. It is an honor when even your peers can see your hard work play out!
And Sarah, well of course Sarah wants to celebrate, she always wants to celebrate everything!
Good job!
Eager to enjoy our summer vacation, it is almost here!
