Pike Place Market, 4-10-09

Will the real Harry Potter please come forward?

We had to try some doughnuts!!

Oodles of fish and mussels.

Today we decided to take a trip to the Pike Place Market. James unexpectedly go the day off and has been saying he's never been there and the kids hadn't either, so off we went. We actually drove to the South Bellevue Park 'n Ride and then took the bus into Seattle to save stress and money on parking. Our resident photographer, Colette, took these photos of our day and I think they are terrific. The rain never came to bother us, even though (because) we brought 3 umbrellas. I bought some beautiful tulips for my Easter table and did lots of people watching. It was a great day in the city, but we were all glad that we lived somewhere a bit more quiet and less crowded.

The recession has come to Newcastle

Colette loves to put on productions. She loves plays, poetry readings, book reports and musicals. She just loves to be in the spotlight in general. Her bedroom doubles as her box office and lately this sign has been posted outside her "box office." We used to have to pony up .50 cents or a buck to see a show. Well, times are hard after all and an artist does whatever she must do to perform. The recession has even hit the Great White Way also known as our hallway!!
