Ian has applied for and been accepted to the Humane Society Teen Club. He had to write a short essay on why he wanted to be in the club, explain how he is going to help the animals and why he is a good candidate for the club.
We were excited when he received his letter of congratulations a few days ago. So, one Saturday a month for a few hours, he will be reporting to the Humane Society in Bellevue for the Teen Club where they will learn how to care for animals and hopefully make some friends too!
Another perk of being in the club is that after his coursework is finished in June, he will be eligible to volunteer at the Humane Society. I am hoping it also will count as community service hours to graduate. Congratulations Ian!

First Day of New Schools
Today, Sept. 2nd, 2009, was Ian's first day of high school (9th grade) and Colette's first day of middle school (6th grade). They looked very spiffy and sparkly in their new school clothes and were both excited and anxious over the prospect of starting at new schools this year. Luckily, the first day back for both is only for their grade level so the halls won't be too crowded today! Good luck my new Hazen Highlander and my new McKnight Lancer!!
