This past weekend, Ian, Colette and I went to the Gorge at George, WA to see Coldplay in concert. My friend Jean was with us too. The kids thought it was a hoot that there was actually a town in our fair state named George. It then prompted a discussion as to whether or not there was a Martha, WA. They hadn't been to eastern Washington in enough years to remember it and thought they had landed in Texas when seeing the dirt, the rolling hills, lack of trees, not to mention the heat. Man, it was HOT!!
The concert was absolutely fantastic, Coldplay did not disappoint. The Gorge was stop 130 or so on their world tour and you would never know it. They had so much energy, you would think it was the first night of their tour. Colette brought her camera along and took some pictures I will share with you. She always does a great job of documenting our adventures! Ian loved the concert. He was singing along and got that little impish grin he gets when he is tickled. Colette quickly abandoned her seat for the aisle behind us where she was free to dance and take pictures. All that dancing in our living room has certainly paid off!
After the concert we drove home arriving about 3am. We were hot, tired and dehydrated but buoyed by the great music we had just heard. It was a blanket of inspiration that we wrapped ourselves in and won't let go of anytime soon. With all the stress of life, this was really a beautiful celebration of what we love. Music!!
