Ian's 8th grade recognition
Colette's 5th grade recognition
Orville and James on Father's Day (just in case you forget their last name, look on the building behind them to the right)
Fun with the Campbell's from Georgia! The month of June has been a whirlwind of activity at our house. We have had 5th grade recognition for Colette, 8th grade recognition for Ian, end-of-year band concerts, Father's Day get together and out-of-town guests. We saw John and Sheri and boys for dinner one evening and spent a great couple of hours talking, eating and comparing notes on SpongeBob episodes. Even Uncle John is a fan!! Colette was honored to be chosen to speak at her 5th grade recognition. The theme was My Favorite Memory of Hazelwood and she chose to speak about her time helping others during school patrol. She did a great job and we were very proud of her! Seeing the baby pictures of all the kids during the slide show certainly got Mom on the verge of being misty, but I held it together somehow! 8th grade recognition was just today for Ian. His class is a big one, around 400 students, and will descend upon either Hazen or Renton next Fall. I wonder if I should warn them of all the hootin' and hollerin' going on today. Nah....
Yesterday was Father's Day and we had made arrangements to meet the Portland cousins halfway between our two fair cities in Centralia for lunch. We picked up cousin Jeff in Seattle and headed south. He had just returned the day before from France so it was wonderful hearing about his trip and especially recalling times in Paris. Ahhh....Anyway we had a great lunch and visit with everyone. The kids got some tree climbing in and potato bugs were spotted everywhere. My budding scientist Colette pointed this out to me :) What more could you ask for? Orville and Phyllis drove down from Port Angeles to take part also, so James was with his Dad for Father's Day. A great time was had by all and plans were made to hopefully meet this summer at the Great Wolf Lodge for some water fun. Stay tuned. Today was the last day of school for all of us. We are already moving slower than normal knowing we don't have to race anywhere at 6:45AM tomorrow morning. We are definitely ready for some down time to think, reflect and plan for the next stage, whatever it may be. You will find me on my new deck this summer, so if we don't answer the front door, come to the back gate. Happy trails!

Awesome photos of the Campbells and clan. A ceremonius goodbye to the elementary years -- wow did that go fast!
Congrats on your accomplishments Ian and Colette. Enjoy the summer and a slower pace.
Congratulations to Ian and Colette!
Oh yeah, and to Mom and Dad as well!!
Next.
Glad to hear that you will be lounging on your deck soon!
I didn't think anyone could have had a busier June than us but it sounds like you have us beat. Whew.
